David Montgomery, Chief Executive Officer

In September, 2015, David assumed the role of the company's CEO. He was previously Chief Technology Officer, where he was responsible for driving all aspects of the company's IT strategy, including its vision, innovation and roadmap. In addition to defining the technical architecture and development of the company’s core products, David continues to manage their testing, rollout, and on-going support, working in close collaboration with the company’s customers to ensure that product strategy and development is aligned and with client requirements.

Prior to Publishing Technology, David was Managing Director of Software Operations at Inspired Thinking Group (ITG), a Tech Track 100 company, where he was responsible for overseeing software hosting, application management, software development and customer services. Prior to that, he held various senior positions, including Chief Innovation Officer, at software company Atex, 10 years as Director of Technology at 5 Fifteen and spent 9 years as Director of Technology at Anite plc (previously Autofile).

Alan Moug, Chief Financial Officer

As Chief Financial Officer of Publishing Technology, Alan is responsible for the financial well being and stability of the organization as well as communicating with the investor community.

Alan was previously Chief Financial Officer for VISTA International with jurisdiction over finance, human resources and administration. Prior to his move to VISTA, Alan held a number of senior positions within Intershop AG, a global provider of ecommerce software and solutions, including CFO of Intershop Communications Inc. in San Francisco, California. Alan has also been the Corporate Reporting Manager for ICI plc and the Finance & IT Manager for ICI Explosives Europe.

Alan began his career as a Chartered Accountant with Coopers & Lybrand in Scotland after graduating from Glasgow University with a Bachelor of Accountancy degree.

G. Scott Winner, Chief Operating Officer

As COO, Scott Winner builds and drives the organization to deliver successfully across all areas of Professional Services, Research and Development, Customer Service and Service Delivery. Scott is responsible for overseeing and evolving how Publishing Technology creates and delivers new products, for deploying its innovations to customers and managing the overall operational execution, all with a strong metrics and analytics driven approach.

Prior to his role as COO, Scott was EVP, Global Projects for Publishing Technology, but has previously held roles managing product line P&L, driving product development efforts and building successful organizations to deliver. He has worked across several different industries, including educational publishing, manufacturing and financial services, and has held roles at Pearson Education, Amplify Learning, McGraw-Hill and the Fireman’s Fund insurance company.

Jane Tappuni, EVP, Business Development

As EVP of Business Development at Publishing Technology, Jane heads up new business development across the organization. With 17 years of experience in the industry, she is responsible for generating sales globally and working between sales and marketing departments to ensure synergy.

Prior to joining Publishing Technology Jane was ICUE’s Managing Director. ICUE is a successful mobile marketing company which serves the book publishing community.

Jay Teitelbaum, Managing Director, Vista

Jay Teitelbaum has been with Publishing Technology, and VISTA before it, since 1987. As Managing Director for the Vista division, he is responsible for the post implementation support and services for all Vista products; solutions that have been powering the fulfilment requirements of many large and smaller publishers for four decades.

During his career at VISTA, Jay worked on numerous customer projects and managed the installation of fulfillment, warehouse management, and other related systems at over 25 major North American and international publishers. Prior to entering into his current role, Jay served as Vice President of Operations, Development Group Director, Project Director, Project Manager, and Senior Software Consultant.

Jay graduated from Rutgers College in 1985, receiving a Bachelor's degree with Honors in Computer Science. After graduating, he spent several years as a software engineer at RCA's aerospace division before joining VISTA.

Jay is currently an active member of the American Management Association (AMA), the IEEE Computer Society, and the Book Industry Study Group (BISG).

Melissanne Scheld, Managing Director, PCG

As Managing Director of PCG, Melissanne leads the PCG team in building strong publisher relationships through our signature services of global sales representation, telemarketing, market research, customer service and strategic consulting. With an academic publishing background spanning two decades, Melissanne has worked through the print-to-digital transition and is experienced in developing sales strategies for a wide-range of scholarly products.

Before joining PCG, Melissanne worked in the New York offices of Cambridge University Press where she managed academic sales, publicity and various marketing functions. Previously she held positions at New York University Press and Columbia University Press and frequently speaks at industry events.

Randy Petway, Chief Revenue Officer

As Chief Revenue Officer, Randy is responsible for aligning and cultivating all revenue-related functions throughout the organization in order to ensure that all streams and the commercial teams accountable for them are working in parallel. In his capacity at CRO, Randy also manages the company’s Partners program, which enables Publishing Technology and its products further penetration of its existing markets and extend its reach into new ones.

Prior to the merger between VISTA and Ingenta to form Publishing Technology, Randy held several management level positions at VISTA, with responsibility for professional services and product development. With more than 15 years of industry experience, he has had the pleasure of working with some of the world's leading trade, academic, and educational publishers. Randy also spent nearly 10 years working in the financial industry.

Tim Cromarty, Development Director

As Development Director, Tim directs the research and development of Publishing Technology’s applications, including its enterprise system and CMS platforms, to ensure the continued evolution and advancement of our technology and our products. Tim has spent over 30 years writing and delivering software applications across a wide range of industries from finance, operations, services through television, oil and gas, as well as health and government. Prior to joining Publishing Technology, Tim delivered global solutions for Oracle, ITV, Global Radio, Capita Health & Wellbeing and GAME Retail.

Gary Bowman, Director of Professional Services

As Director of Professional Services, Gary is responsible for the delivery of our enterprise software products across the organization and has worked on many of our largest and most complex projects to date. Gary has managed many of our most successful software deliveries for clients such as Egmont, Rosen Publishers, Sterling Publishing, Cambridge University Press, Hachette (LBS/Bookpoint) and Marston Book Services. Before joining Publishing Technology, Gary spent 11 years at Butterworth’s, a once legal, scientific, and medical publisher. He was also responsible for the initial development and support of the PubEasy e-commerce service.

Paul Roglic, Service Delivery Director

As Service Delivery Director, Paul is responsible for all infrastructure, security and platform delivery services spanning Publishing Technology’s entire product range and its internal requirements. Understanding and introducing technology changes to the business, its hosting platform and customers is a key part of the department’s remit in addition to maintaining strict SLAs for the hosted platforms. The Service Delivery team supports hundreds of servers in multiple locations across the globe and in the cloud.
Over the course of his 20+ years in IT Paul has previously worked in both banking and travel.

Justin Ackerman, Customer Services Director

As Customer Services Director, Justin is responsible for transitioning Publishing Technology’s newest customers through the implementation phases via our project management team and into our perpetual client services team post-go-live. Justin is also responsible for managing relationships with our existing customers to ensure they receive excellent levels of customer care throughout the partnership and that the relationship is a strategic alliance, not just a service. Justin is a PMP certified project manager with over 15 years’ experience managing software projects and products and working in the financial services industry at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Fidelity Investments and State Street prior to joining Publishing Technology.

Byron Russell, Head of ingentaconnect

As Head of ingentaconnect, Byron provides overall leadership and management of the commercial activities for our publisher-facing CMS product, ingentaconnect, spanning 280+ publisher clients and over 25,000 registered libraries. As a senior manager within the Group Sales and Marketing Division, Byron is responsible for the business development of the ingentaconnect service and for managing its Account Management and Client Support teams in the US and UK. Byron has an extensive background in publishing management, primarily in the education space, and was actively engaged in the business development of Macmillan’s class-leading English Campus and Discover China programmes and CUP’s English360 LMS prior to joining Publishing Technology.

Ken Burch, Technology Director

As Technology Director, Ken is involved in researching, selecting and implementing technologies that will benefit the company's full range of applications and is currently involved in enhancements to our Enterprise suite of products. With the organisation since 1982, Ken was integral to driving the development of Vista Client and was responsible changing the language to support running the applications on the Oracle RDBMS. Prior to this Ken was Product Manager for the Vista Books applications and also Project Managed Vista implementations at some of our largest publishers. Prior joining Publishing Technology, he worked at Pan Books during the implementation of a new APT11 system.

Jon Sheffield, Group Financial Controller

As Group Financial Controller, Jon manages the Publishing Technology Finance function including all aspects of compliance, forecasting and reporting. An ACA qualified accountant, Jon spent the early part of his career in practice, latterly at PWC, managing audits and compliance over a broad range of companies and market sectors. Prior to joining Publishing Technology, he held similar finance roles in the IT and Retail industry.

Jacki Hall, Group HR Manager

As Group HR Manger, Jacki develops, advises on and implements policies relating to the effective use of personnel within Publishing Technology and is trustee of Publishing Technology’s pension scheme. In addition to managing the company’s training and development programmes, Jacki is also responsible for ensuring that Publishing Technology staff are equipped to perform and achieve in both the company’s business aims and aspirations as well as in the individual’s ambitions too. Jacki early career was spent in roles at publishing, advertising and software companies and, after a number of years as HR Manager at VISTA, Jacki was appointed Group HR Manager of Publishing Technology when VISTA merged with Ingenta in 2007.

Emily Taylor Gregory, Head of Marketing and Communications

As Head of Marketing and Communications, Emily is responsible for driving Publishing Technology’s global marketing and PR strategy. Leading the company's promotional activities to showcase its CMS, enterprise and advertising products, as well as PCG's sales and marketing services, Emily is responsible for all direct and indirect marketing channels throughout the business, including digital campaigns, websites, social media, events, public relations and investor communications. With 12 years' experience in the industry, Emily is also a member of the Book Industry Communication (BIC) organisation’s Training, Events and Communications Committee where she helps to support the publicity of BIC’s training courses, events and other other industry initiatives.
