George Lossius, Chief Executive Officer
George Lossius is the CEO of Publishing Technology plc, whose products and services include advance, ingentaconnect, pub2web, VISTA, Heron and PCG and through these have some 400 diverse publisher customers. George has 25 years of experience in many sectors of publishing in the UK, USA and France, and he is also currently on the Board of Directors for the Book Industry Study Group.
Prior to the formation of Publishing Technology, George was the Group Chief Executive of VISTA and held executive positions in France, the UK and the US. Before joining VISTA, George worked for Unilever, and in the mid ’90s was also the founder and publisher of an electronic sports newsletter.
Alan Moug, Chief Financial Officer
As Chief Financial Officer of Publishing Technology, Alan is responsible for the financial well being and stability of the organization as well as communicating with the investor community.
Alan was previously Chief Financial Officer for VISTA International with jurisdiction over finance, human resources and administration. Prior to his move to VISTA, Alan held a number of senior positions within Intershop AG, a global provider of ecommerce software and solutions, including CFO of Intershop Communications Inc. in San Francisco, California. Alan has also been the Corporate Reporting Manager for ICI plc and the Finance & IT Manager for ICI Explosives Europe.
Alan began his career as a Chartered Accountant with Coopers & Lybrand in Scotland after graduating from Glasgow University with a Bachelor of Accountancy degree.
Peter Blok, EVP, Global Professional Services
Dr Blok has over 30 years experience in global commercial operations and technology. In his current role he has oversight of all professional services and systems implementations for Publishing Technology. His professional experience includes 13 major multi-site ERP systems deployments, the largest one encompassing over 52 international sites. His management background includes international performance improvement programs, corporate turn-arounds and several business process optimization programs. As a professional services executive he has managed portfolios of over 50 simultaneous projects in 10 countries with project sizes in excess of $50M. Peter’s international experience includes postings in Canada, UK, France, Switzerland, Japan and China.
Prior to joining Publishing Technology Dr. Blok was VP Global Operations at Celgene Corporation, VP Global Professional Services for Invensys Corporation, and Director North American Planning and IT for Novartis Pharmaceuticals. He holds a PhD in Chemical Physics from New York University and obtained his executive training in finance and operations management at NYU Stern School of Business and University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School.
Randy Petway, COO, advance Division
As Chief Operating Officer, Randy leads the advance Division in its strategic development to ensure the continued growth and market leadership for Publishing Technology’s print and digital publishing operations solution.
Prior to the merger between VISTA and Ingenta to form Publishing Technology, Randy held several management level positions at VISTA, with responsibility for professional services and product development. With more than 15 years of industry experience, he has had the pleasure of working with some of the world’s leading trade, academic, and educational publishers. Randy also spent nearly 10 years working in the financial industry.
Michael Cairns, COO, Online Division
As Chief Operating Officer of Publishing Technology’s Online Division, Michael is responsible for the management operations of the ingentaconnect and pub2web solutions, which include Client Management, Product Development & strategy, Library Services, Engineering, Production, Advertising and scouting new markets.
Michael has spent 20 years in digital publishing, having consulted with and managed organizations deep in the transition from traditional print-based media to online delivery. He has held numerous advisory and board roles within the industry and speaks regularly at conferences around the world.
Jane Tappuni, EVP, Business Development
As EVP of Business Development at Publishing Technology, Jane heads up new business development across the organization. With 17 years of experience in the industry, she is responsible for generating sales globally and working between sales and marketing departments to ensure synergy.
Prior to joining Publishing Technology Jane was ICUE’s Managing Director. ICUE is a successful mobile marketing company which serves the book publishing community.
Jay Teitelbaum, COO, VISTA Division
Jay Teitelbaum has been with Publishing Technology, and VISTA before it, since 1987. As the Chief Operating Officer, he is responsible for the Professional Services, Customer Services, and Account Management functions within the VISTA Division.
Jay graduated from Rutgers College in 1985, receiving a Bachelor’s degree with Honors in Computer Science. After graduating, he spent several years as a software engineer at RCA’s aerospace division before joining VISTA.
During his career at VISTA, Jay worked on numerous customer projects and managed the installation of fulfillment, warehouse management, and other related systems at over 25 major North American and international publishers. Prior to entering into his current role, Jay served as Vice President of Operations, Development Group Director, Project Director, Project Manager, and Senior Software Consultant.
Jay is currently an active member of the American Management Association (AMA), the IEEE Computer Society, and the Book Industry Study Group (BISG).
Douglas Wright, Director, PCG
As Director of Publishers Communication Group and head of the corporate marketing group for Publishing Technology, Doug ensures that our services and offerings are properly leveraged and developed to maximize the benefit to the market. With more than 20 years of experience in marketing and selling scholarly publications, Doug has implemented circulation management strategies for more than 100 publishers. Doug is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish, and has extensive experience working in Latin America on behalf of our publisher clients. He is responsible for developing Publishing Technology’s operation in São Paulo, Brazil.
Before joining Publishing Technology, Doug spent seven years at EBSCO Information Services where his responsibilities included direct marketing and circulation management for scholarly publishers.
Helen Sun, CEO, Publishing Technology China
A cross disciplinary publishing professional with a wide network in China and the UK, Helen Sun heads up Publishing Technology’s China operation. With a background in technology and academia, including former posts at the Founder Group, Patrick Cain McDermott and the University of Stirling UK, Helen is responsible for business development in the largest emerging market for content in the world, managing the ingentaconnect China platform, Publishing Technology’s relationship with the China National Publications Import and Export Corporation (CNPIEC), and sales of Western content within China via PCG services. She earned her PhD in Editing and Publishing Studies at the Communication University of China.
